A Quilter with a Green Thumb --- Maybe NOT!

My Aloe plant over grew it's planter.

One day the plant was all in the planter and then next day it was tipping right out of the planter.

So I very carefully moved the loose plants into 3 buckets with a little potting soil in the bottom.

After the holidays I will purchase planters and more potting soil and replant them.

There is still a lot of plant left in the pot.

I need to share the off shoots with my friends again.

Enjoy your day!

I think I will keep my Day Job!

I have been practicing decorating cookies!

I didn't let the cookies cool enough, before I frosted them, so the frosting wasn't smooth on the edges!

I couldn't figure out how to write letters -- backtracked and then the R looks funny.

The RR stands for River Rats.  We are going to a River Rats Party and I wanted to take frosted cookies.

I tired to make water waves for the River and I tried to make a little house to represent a camper.  Yikes!  I am not going to quit my day job.

I just couldn't get the hang of the gel frosting. I will keep trying.

They may not be perfectly frosted, but they sure do taste good!

YES -- the plate of cookies does look like a quilt to me!

Enjoy your day!

It's a Blog Hop Party with Giveaways that is hosted by Quilting Gallery!

I am joining in the fun of the giveaway
by sharing my new pattern,
and 3 Fat Quarters.

YES  YES  YES!

I am giving away the quilt pattern
and the fabric to make the
quilt top - a square table topper
but sorry, not the tomatoes!

This quilt pattern was inspired by all the tomatoes that I harvested from my container garden this summer.  The pattern makes a 21" X 21" square table topper and you can multiply it, to make larger quilts!

There are two chances to win:

1. Leave a comment to enter --- What is your favorite color of the three tomatoes?  RedYellow, or Orange
I suppose, I should include Green, for fried green tomatoes!

2. If you are a follower or a "new" follower, you can enter a second time -- Leave a comment and say you are!  Thanks!

Yes ---  I will ship internationally!

Giveaway ends at Midnight CST on Saturday, Dec. 15th and will be announced on the weekend!

Thanks!

Summer Tomatoes Fat Quarter Set --- Winner

The winner of the Summer Tomatoes Fat Quarter Fabric Set is Carolyn from Sew Darn Quilt Blog  ! Congratulations to Carolyn!

Thanks to all who entered the Blog Hop Giveaway!

And thanks to Michele at Quilting Gallery for hosting the Blog Hop Party with Giveaways - Thanks Michele!

The Summer Tomatoes Quilt Pattern is available for purchase right now.  All Pre orders will receive a set of 3 Fat Quarters free with the Summer Tomatoes Quilt Pattern. The pattern shares an artsy construction method that you will use over and over again to create all sorts of quilted items. It is an easy to make pattern for beginners to experts. The 3 fat quarters will make a 9 block table topper.

I just finished quilting my Summer Tomatoes Table Topper!  It measures 24" X 25".  Perfect for the center of any table!

I quilted it with Double Bubbles Quilting using 2 thread colors.

I quilted it twice -- first with a soft red and then with an orange thread.

Some of the bubbles are large and some are small. I followed the squares and sometimes I just divided it up into several bubbles.

I quilted in the title of the quilt and my name with the year.  It's a fun way to label my own quilts.

You can see the backside of the quilt and the front.

No I did not bind it yet!  Maybe this weekend!

When I took the photos the sun was bright and it reflected back the colors, so some of the photos look brighter and some look a little dull.

It's an easy quilt to make and a fun quilt to quilt!  You can use 3 colors or 6 colors.  I am currently working on two other color ways.  One with blues and one with purples and pinks.  The possibilities are endless!

Enjoy your day!

Were They Good?

I made Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Cake Mix Cookies.

I added Chocolate/Peanut Butter Chips to my cookies.

I mixed them up, baked them, and then covered them so they would be fresh for my husband.  I very rarely bake and usually not at all in the summer, but the weather was much cooler today.  Did he like them?  He loved them!

Yes, I made more than 3 cookies!  I made a dozen and saved the rest of the dough.  I rolled it into balls and it's already to take out of the refrigerator and bake another day.

See... I don't just sew and quilt... I garden and I cook and bake a little bit!

Here is the link to the recipe: Just a Pinch Recipes.

Enjoy!
